Yemi Alade slams colleagues for downplaying Afrobeats genre

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has berated her colleagues who downplay the Afrobeats style.
She stated that whereas it’s not fallacious for artists to denounce Afrobeats particularly in the event that they really feel it doesn’t outline their artwork, it’s hypocrisy for them to downplay the style, including that it has contributed to each Nigerian artist’s growth.

On her X deal with, the ‘Johnny’ crooner wrote: “I don’t see something fallacious in informing your listeners of the style of music an artist makes particularly if you really feel it doesn’t outline your artwork.

“Simply Announce your Style in peace. Downplaying the function Afrobeats has performed in each artist’s growth is hypocrisy.”

Alade’s social media outburst is coming in opposition to the backdrop of some Nigerian singers together with Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy denouncing the Afrobeats style.

All of them claimed that they ditched the style as a result of all African artists boxed into Afrobeats no matter their musical types.
