Scores rendered homeless as rainfall wreaks havoc in Ogbomoso


Scores of individuals in Ajaawa, headquarters of Ogo-Oluwa Native Authorities Space of Oyo State, have been rendered homeless after heavy rainfall within the space.

One of many affected individuals described the 2 separate rainfall as unlucky.

He added that two individuals have been injured and rushed to a hospital.

“It was a disastrous incidence. The primary rainfall occured 9 days in the past (final week Thursday), and it destroyed over 100 homes. We’re but to get well from that when one other downpour began yesterday at about 4pm and when it stopped over 200 homes had been destroyed. It’s devastating,” he stated.

The standard ruler of the city, Alajaawa of Ajaawa, Oba Thompson Adeyeye, in a phone dialog, confirmed the event.

He expressed grief over the catastrophe as he urged governments, political workplace holders and philanthropists to help the group.

Our correspondent learnt on Tuesday that the lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa/ Surulere federal constituency, Hon Sunday Makanjuola, has despatched his home aides to commiserate with the folks of the city over the catastrophe and assess the extent of harm.

Obalade Kadewole, a home aide to the lawmaker, revealed this in a brief assertion obtained by DAILY POST on Tuesday.

He stated, “Honourable is severely pained by the event and is strenuously engaged on bringing aid to the victims.”
