Police enforce ban on ethnic vigilante groups, other organizations in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has commenced enforcement of the Government Order No. 1 of 2024 signed by the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, banning all ethnic vigilante teams within the state.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Shehu Umar Nadada, in an announcement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, ordered all Space Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Division/Tactical groups within the Command to hold out full enforcement of the ban.

He additionally ordered members of the disbanded teams at hand over all uniforms and accoutrements of their possession to the Space Commanders or Divisional Cops closest to their areas inside two weeks.
