NDLEA confiscates tramadol, codeine, others hidden in noodles


The Nationwide Drug Legislation Enforcement Company, NDLEA, has nabbed three males in Bayelsa State for trafficking in psychoactive substances hidden in noodles.

The company’s spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday, including that two of the three males have been arrested at Swali Jetty, Yenagoa, on March 27.

He additional acknowledged that psychoactive medication recovered from them have been 73.425kg of codeine, molly, tramadol and diazepam.

“The third suspect was nabbed at Amasoma, Yenagoa in a observe up operation. The medication have been hid in jumbo sacks and conveyed to Swali Jetty in a tricycle,’’ he acknowledged.

Babafemi added that in Taraba, the NDLEA recovered 39,980 drugs of tramadol from a 33-year-old suspect in Lankaviri village, whereas its operatives arrested a 29-year-old man in Wukari on March 28 with 131kg of Indian hemp.

“In Abia, NDLEA operatives arrested a 28-year-old man on Friday, March 29 at Akara Ahuba, in Isikwuato Native Authorities Space.

“Recovered from him have been 46.65kg of Indian hemp and totally different portions of tramadol, methamphetamine and Rohypnol in addition to N71,500 financial exhibit,’’ Babafemi added.
