Kano govt bans movies depicting cross-dressing, thuggery

The Kano State Movie Censorship Board has instructed that films depicting or endorsing cross-dressing and thuggery will not be allowed within the state.

The Board’s govt secretary, Abba El-Mustapha disclosed this yesterday throughout a gathering with the administration and stakeholders from Kannywood.

A press release by the board’s spokesman, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, stated the choice to ban these movies was made in response to public concern concerning the potential promotion of legal actions and inappropriate behaviors amongst younger individuals.

El-Mustapha stated, “it’s excessive time to fish out any movie that will demoralize our customs, norms and values within the title of reaching reputation, viewers or enterprise making.”

That is coming when the Nigeria Police Pressure stated cross-dressing was not against the law beneath the Nigerian legislation.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, defined that controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly often called Bobrisky and others like him can’t be arrested.
