Jnr Pope: Enugu has lost one of its talented sons – Gov Mbah


Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu has mourned Nollywood actor, Obumneme Odonwodo, a.okay.a Jnr. Pope, saying the state has misplaced considered one of its proficient sons.

The governor stated Jnr. Pope’s dying got here at a time when Enugu State was working laborious to develop the artistic potential of its youths for self-reliance.

Mbah stated this in a press release issued by the State Commissioner for Info and Communication, Aka Eze Aka, on Saturday evening in Enugu.

Pope, who hailed from Ukehe in Igbo-Etiti Council Space of the State, alongside three of his colleagues, misplaced their lives within the tragic boat accident on River Niger whereas coming back from a film location on Wednesday.

The governor described Jnr. Pope’s dying as ‘heart-wrenching and unlucky’, saying he obtained the information with unhappiness.

He stated, “Certainly, the dying of Jnr. Pope got here at a time Enugu state was working so laborious to develop the artistic potential of its youths for self-reliance, job creation and export of their abilities outdoors the shores of Nigeria”.

Mbah expressed deep remorse that such proficient, younger Nigerians may lose their lives in such unlucky circumstances.

The governor commiserated with the bereaved households, Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN and your entire Nollywood business on the lack of their members in an ill-fated boat accident.

He promised that the state would work in live performance with the household to make sure a befitting burial for the late film icon.

The governor pressured that the Enugu State Authorities had opened a condolence register for Nigerians to pay their tributes to the fallen Nollywood Star.
