Jigawa: Police nab kidnappers who killed victim after collecting N3m ransom

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested members of a kidnapping gang who killed a sufferer after gathering N3 million ransom.

Spokesman of the Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the event on Thursday.

Adam disclosed that the 56-year-old gang chief, Adamu Bello, who has been at giant, was arrested at Maimari village, Yobe State in reference to a case of legal conspiracy, abduction and culpable murder of 1 Abdullahi Adamu, of Musari village, Guri LGA.

He defined that the incident occurred on 24/06/2023 at about 0120hrs, when a gang of but to be recognized individuals, numbering about twelve, in possession of weapons and a few harmful weapons, invaded Adamu’s home and kidnapped him.

The Police spokesman mentioned on receipt of the report, detectives from State Intelligence Division Dutse (SID) swung into motion for discreet investigation, resulting in the arrest of 4 suspects.

The suspects embrace Buba A. Abdul, Bello Mallam, Adamu Dahiru and Mamman Bille.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed to have conspired with the mentioned Adamu Bello in committing the offence.

They equally admitted that after gathering a ransom of N3 million, they killed the sufferer.
