Batsari: 28 girls kidnapped in Katsina rescued – Police


The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the discharge of 28 ladies kidnapped by bandits yesterday in Katsina. The ladies have been reportedly kidnapped whereas gathering firewood close to Kasia village in Batsari LGA of the state.

ASP Sadiq Aliyu, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the rescue in a press release on Tuesday. He said that each one the victims “have now regained freedom and are secure and sound.”

ASP Sadiq disclosed that on receiving the report, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, Katsina Police Commissioner, swiftly deployed a process power crew alongside different safety stakeholders. This motion led to the discharge of all of the kidnapped victims at about 10:40 pm on the identical day of the incident.

The assertion partly reads: “On the first of April, 2024, at about 10:30 hrs, about twenty-eight (28) ladies who went to the outskirts of Kasai village, Batsari LGA, Katsina State, with intent to fetch firewood, have been kidnapped by kidnappers.

“Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, swiftly deployed operatives to the scene, tasked with the unharmed rescue of the victims.”
