$350m, N85m loan: Constitute panel, go after El-Rufai – Shehu Sani to Kaduna govt


Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has urged the state authorities to go after ex-governor Nasir El-Rufai and people behind the state’s enormous debt profile.

Sani urged Governor Uba Sani to represent an unbiased probe panel to research the speedy previous administration over the large debt it left behind.

The governor had claimed that he inherited a debt burden of $587 million, N85 billion and 115 contractual liabilities from the El-Rufai administration.

Talking at a City Corridor assembly over the weekend in Kaduna, the governor mentioned the large debt profile has made it tough for him to pay staff’ salaries.

Nonetheless, Shehu Sani, in a put up on X on Monday, harassed that the present Kaduna State authorities can’t treatment the state of affairs alone.
