Taraba ALGON boss makes case for grassroots development

Taraba State Chairman of the Affiliation of Native Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Dr Jauro Hassan, has emphasised the necessity for a growth strategy focused on the grassroots.

Talking throughout the inauguration of Supervisory Councilors in Jalingo, the state capital, Hassan highlighted the vital position of native governments in addressing the wants of the folks.

He lamented the neglect usually skilled by the native councils, leading to a scarcity of serious growth on the grassroots stage.

“In lots of cases, growth efforts have been disproportionately directed in the direction of city facilities, leaving our native authorities areas and communities underserved,” Hassan remarked.

He counseled the present administration for prioritizing grassroots growth, citing Governor Agbu Kefas’s dedication to assuaging poverty and fostering inclusive development.

Hassan urged the newly appointed officers to embrace their roles as frontline representatives and work diligently to make sure equitable growth throughout all communities.

Seven supervisory councilors and ten advisers have been inaugurated to supervise the seven wards throughout the Jalingo Native Authorities Space.

These appointments, as noticed by DAILY POST, are anticipated to stay in place till the subsequent native authorities elections within the state.
