The Nigerian Meteorological Company, NiMet, has forecast thunderstorms and sunshine from Sunday to Tuesday throughout the nation.
NiMet climate outlook launched in Abuja forecast sunny skies on Sunday, with few patches of cloud over most elements of the northern area through the morning hours.
In accordance with the company, remoted thunderstorms are anticipated over elements of Kaduna and Taraba, with a hazy situation over elements of Yobe and Borno States later within the day.
The company stated cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over the North Central area through the morning hours.
Within the afternoon/night intervals, the company stated remoted thunderstorms are envisaged over elements of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa,
Benue, Kwara and Kogi states.
NiMet stated that cloudy skies with spells of sunshine are anticipated over the inland states with probabilities of remoted thunderstorms over elements of Imo and Abia.
The company envisaged the coast to be predominantly cloudy with probabilities of thunderstorms over elements of Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers States, through the morning interval.
It anticipated remoted thunderstorms over elements of, Oyo, Edo, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Ogun and Delta States, whereas widespread thunderstorms are anticipated over most elements of the coast later within the day.
In accordance with NiMet, sunny intervals with few cloud patches are anticipated over the northern area through the Monday morning hours.
It predicted remoted thunderstorms over elements of Kaduna and Taraba States, later within the day.
“The North Central needs to be cloudy with sunshine intervals through the morning hours with prospects of remoted thunderstorms over elements of Kwara, Niger, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory, through the afternoon/night intervals.
“The southern area needs to be predominantly
cloudy with prospects of morning thunderstorms over elements of Enugu, Abia, Imo, Cross River, Rivers and Akwa Ibom States, through the morning hours.
“Later within the day, remoted thunderstorms are anticipated over the Inland states of Imo, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Edo, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Enugu, Ebonyi and Osun States, whereas vast unfold thunderstorms are anticipated over most elements of the Coast,” it stated.
