NERC: Why we approved downward review of electricity tariff for Band A customers

The Nigerian Electrical energy Regulatory Fee, NERC, stated it permitted the downward discount of the electrical energy tariff of Band A prospects as a consequence of improved trade charges.

The Fee in a press release issued Monday stated it thought of adjustments within the macroeconomic parameters over the previous month of April 2024.

The assertion reads: “Pursuant to the tariff methodology adopted by the Nigerian Electrical energy Regulatory Fee, a revised tariff order masking the month of Might 2024 has been issued by the Fee to the eleven (11) electrical energy distribution firms.

“The Fee has thought of adjustments within the macroeconomic parameters over the previous month of April 2024 and particularly the appreciation of trade charges – consequently the Fee has permitted a downward evaluation of end-user tariffs for Band “A” prospects from NGN225/kWh to NGN206.8/kWh.

“The Fee reaffirms its dedication to offering a balanced and efficient regulatory regime serving the wants of the Nigerian Electrical energy Provide Business.”
