Kaduna denies fresh $17.69m loan


The Kaduna State Authorities, by the Ministry of Finance, has denied acquiring a recent $17.69 million mortgage.

The state Commissioner for Finance, Shizzer Bada, made this recognized in a press assertion on Thursday.

Bada mentioned, “We didn’t borrow the mentioned quantity or every other quantity as reported. The claims are fully false and fabricated.

“There have to be readability for borrowing and it’s essential to know that; borrowing actions by sub-national entities in Nigeria are strictly ruled by a framework comprising the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Based on her, the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, didn’t enter into any settlement or obtain any international mortgage as claimed.

“The authorized provisions outlined in related statutes are clear concerning exterior borrowing by authorities entities.

“The Debt Administration Workplace (Institution, And so forth.) Act, 2003, explicitly mandates that no exterior mortgage may be permitted or obtained with out prior presentation of its phrases and situations to the Nationwide Meeting for approval,” she added.

Bada urged the general public to ignore the report and resist being misinformed.
