Communal clashes: Nigerian Govt urged to establish army barracks in Okuama

The Okoloba Federated Neighborhood in Delta has referred to as on the Federal Authorities to ascertain a military barracks in neighboring Okuama City as a technique to deal with communal clashes and killings within the space.

The Chairman of Okoloba Federated Neighborhood, Clement Koki, made the decision in an interview with the Information Company of Nigeria in Lagos.

Recall that on March 14, at the least, 17 navy personnel had been killed in Okuama following a communal conflict within the space.

The personnel connected to the 181 Amphibious Battalion had been responding to a misery name after they had been ambushed and killed.

Okuama, an Urhobo neighborhood in-between two Ijaw communities; Akugbena and Okoloba, is in Ughelli South Native Authorities Space of Delta.

Koki, who condemned the killing of the officers and troopers, mentioned that establishing a military barracks at Okuama would promote peace within the space.

“We don’t need bloodbaths once more. We have now misplaced sufficient folks, together with the best navy officers that had been killed,” he mentioned.

He sympathised with neighboring communities for non permanent inconveniences on them occasioned by safety measures put in place by the navy to forestall additional crises.

He mentioned that institution of a military barracks would finish or scale back conflicts and killings within the space.
