Benue: ‘They’ve buried differences’ – Tiv traditional council reconciles Alia, Akume

The Tiv Conventional Council has initiated a reconciliation between Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State and the Secretary to the Authorities of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume.

Alia and Akume have been locked in a silent battle over the management of the North Central state.

The disaster reached its peak when Alia’s supporters inaugurated a rival faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, State Govt Council.

Out of concern, the Tiv paramount ruler, Prof James Ayatse, and the Tiv Conventional Council invited the 2 events to sit down down and discuss issues out.

Addressing a press briefing, Ayatse mentioned the 2 events had come to an settlement to resolve their variations amicably.

“The 2 leaders have agreed to place apart their political variations and work for the progress of Benue.

“At this time, I known as the Governor of Benue, Rev Fr Alia, and the SGF, Sen George Akume, to debate with them due to experiences that we have now obtained about conflicts between them.

“Now we have spoken with them. They’ve instructed us the problems. We mentioned the problems and agreed collectively.

“They agreed to bury their variations and work collectively as a crew for the great of the individuals

“So, all of the previous variations have been put apart and now we have now a contemporary begin. We will work collectively in unity, in cooperation and settlement for the progress and growth of Benue.

“The leaders have made a dedication to maintain to their phrase and guarantee that there’s peace and unity between them going ahead.

“Sure, they made a dedication. They shook palms and embraced each other. They’ve promised to work as a crew.
