The Returning Officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the course of the April 20 governorship primaries in Ward 10 of Akoko Southwest Native Council space of Ondo State, Alaba Abe, popularly referred to as ‘Excel’, has been killed by unknown gunmen.
The incident came about on Saturday evening round 9:00 p.m. in entrance of deceased residence in Supare-Akoko throughout the council space.
Sources throughout the space, talking on situation of anonymity, revealed that the assailants ambushed the deceased as he was about to enter his home, and fatally shot him.
Kayode Fasua, the Director of Data for the Fortunate Aiyedatiwa Marketing campaign Organisation Foot Troopers, LACO-FS, who confirmed killing, known as on the police authorities to make sure the protection and safety of its members towards any potential threats from political opponents.
In keeping with Fasua, the late Alaba Abe was a devoted and resourceful coordinator who campaigned tirelessly for the success of the election and the emergence of Governor Fortunate Aiyedatiwa.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, within the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that an investigation has commenced to apprehend these behind the homicide.
“The command is conscious of the incident at Supare, investigating is ongoing to unravel all that occurred.”
